boys do cry..

oh wells, if there's anything good that i learnt out of ranking, here it is.. anyway, was at the ivp basketball finals.. the guys played a really good game, but just guessed that it wasn't nus's game.. nus trailed ntu by only 2 points... oh wells.. but it was the spirit and drive that the guys had, which was really captivating..

the crowd, though not that much.. the spirit, the drive reminded me of days back in acjc.. where we cheered our hearts out, screamed our lungs out and unfortunately, sometimes, we made fun of our opponents too.. especially during rugby finals, when the whole school gets half-day off, comes down to police academy, stands under the hot evening sun for the next 2 hours to come.. watching the biggest sporting event for the acs family.. the excitement, the craze, the adrenaline rush when the players score.. it's just pure madness!! then it gets extremely chaotic when the final goal is scored and there will be a great diffusion of physical mass towards the centre of the field.. and the acs anthem does not sound like that of just another school song..

well, though i think i'll never understand how it feels to be building a float, to be a dancer for rag but being part of rag comm last year, it was more than enough.. witnessing the efforts of all the pbs, thinking how in the world did they come up with all those mechanism?? how in the world can old aluminium cans be reused.. the floats kind of redefine the meaning of recycling, just that everything goes into a sembcorp waste bin after months of efforts.. the heart, the hours, the sacrifice they made to make the float work.. though at the end of the day, the float has absolutely no relevance to the theme of each rag event.. it's always good vs. evil and good will always triumph.. right!! remember kianyaw said that when the tail of the scorpion dropped off from his hall float during mounting day, all of his hall's engineers were panicking for life.. and for the year 2005, mingui is one of the many who have returned to do rag all over again.. and i do admire you folks for taking up again..

hmm.. however minor these events may be, it's enough to make boys tear.. well, grown-up men included.. the heart, the efforts poured into the whole process.. it's as good as having rag/ rugby/ basketball and whatever else intergrated into their lives..
